two-legged, fumble-fingered slobs

Humans…are generally two-legged, fumble-fingered slobs whose indolent wits enable them by and large to be sitting ducks… The big polluter did not start out with smokestacks. He didn’t start pumping gunk into the waters of our world when he was six years old. He started small. Throwing papers underfoot in the streets, heaving old bottles into vacant lots, leaving the remnants of a picnic in the fields and woodlands. Just like the rest of us.
